Pronoun: They/Them/Their or She/Her/Hers or Sie/Hir/Hirs, all pretty interchangeably

Other characters: Dropped The Boulder
CHARACTER STUFF
Name: Eridan Ampora
Aliases: Orphaner Dualscar (may or may not actually use this for things)
Canon: Homestuck
Role: Ambassador of the Alternian Republic's government-in-hiding (Feferi).
Species: Troll.
Gender: Definitely male. Yeah. Absolutely, 100%. ((actual gender: wwinning))
Age: 16 (8 sweeps)
Appearance: Wiry athletic seadweller troll with jagged horns and a purple hair streak. Wears non-functional glasses, ostentatious purple capes, and dorky striped scarves.
Origin story: Eridan joined Feferi, Karkat, Sollux, and the others on their escape off-world. They were separated in transit, but he met up with Feferi again after she left earth to do Space Politics. She very quickly realized that it's basically impossible to get any kind of Space Politics done with Eridan Ampora around. She sent him off on some unspecified "very important" mission, just to get him out of her hair. And then he crash-landed on earth, and Feferi appointed him her diplomat to Earth's government (presumably she doesn't actually care about Earth very much).
Personality: Awful. Awful, awful, awful.
Okay, serious answer. The core of Eridan's personality is his absolute, unyielding stubbornness. When he makes a decision, or comes to a conclusion, he will hold onto it as long as possible. Mind you, Eridan is able to very rapidly adapt to new ideas and information when he wants to. He just doesn't very often want to - and when he does, he will be very surprised that you bothered bringing up the change. That's old news, it doesn't matter any more.
Eridan has developed this incredibly difficult personality by growing up in a society that encouraged exactly that kind of behavior. As a seadweller, other trolls were expected to bend over backwards to meet his demands and expectations, a privilege that he exploited enthusiastically. There was never any need to change, because the world would just change for him.
He also picked up a casual appreciation for murder and casteism from Alternian society, but his heart isn't really in it. He doesn't really care about blood color or killing, but he's spent so long believing that he does that it's all but become true.
Differences from canon: Instead of dragging him into a reality-warping game, Feferi drags Eridan into a revolution. And then promptly kicks him out again when he starts metaphorically slaughtering angels and literally challenging random people to duels.
Power level: D unarmed. C while wielding Ahab's Crosshairs. Potential to reach B if he develops powers and learns to use them (see below).
Powers: When Eridan arrives on Earth, he's going to have the proficiency of your average child soldier with a superweapon - solid stamina, agility and hand-to-hand capabilities, and a laser rifle that can blast a hole through a building.
In canon, however, Eridan eventually develops some of the powers associated with the aspect of Hope - which is to say, belief-based reality warping. Eridan just uses it to believe hard enough in his magic laser wand to make it actually work, but in this reality, he might have the chance to actually learn to control them? Or he may never develop those powers at all, I haven't decided. The way this would manifest, at least at first, would be Eridan really intensely insisting that something is true, and then subconsciously bending reality around the strength of that stubbornness.
Team affiliation: ... look, he's going to join Team Aqua, but that may or may not last. Otherwise he is loyal to the Alternian Republic (Feferi).
First person sample: Eridan was very busy helping Feferi with her Space Politics
Prose sample: I still can't believe that this actually happened.
